These two troubled souls decide to join forces in an annual competition where they take turns trying to out-kill each other. But of course, they can’t help but fall in love along the way—because nothing says romance like a violent contest for supremacy, right? Forget the classic candlelit dinners. This is all about bloodstained glory and witty banter. It´s as dark as you’d expect. If you enjoy reading about extremely unsettling scenes where murder is practically the new black, you’ll find this book to be a real page-turner. The dark, sarcastic humor, while definitely on the twisted side, does manage to keep things entertaining—if you can stomach it. It's the perfect read if you’re looking for a unique rom-com—one that will make you question every life decision you’ve ever made while simultaneously entertaining you with sharp dialogue and murder-filled adventures. You’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, and you’ll probably need a shower afterward. What’s not to love?

  Solange ein Streichholz brennt

  Dieses Buch hat mich auf eine Art und Weise berührt, die ich nur selten beim Lesen erlebe. Es ist für mich weit mehr als eine Geschichte – es ist ein emotionales Erlebnis, das mich vollständig eingenommen hat und noch lange nachwirkt. Ich habe beim Lesen gelacht, geweint und mich in vielen Momenten einfach wiedergefunden gefühlt. Die Geschichte wirkt so persönlich und nah, als würde sie direkt ins Herz treffen. Gerade diese Intimität hat mich besonders beeindruckt. Christian Huber schätze ich als Autor sehr. Sein Schreibstil ist warm, ehrlich und gleichzeitig unglaublich feinfühlig. Er findet Worte für Gefühle, für die man selbst oft keine hat. Genau das macht dieses Buch für mich so besonders. Auch die Protagonisten habe ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Sie wirken lebendig, authentisch und tragen die Geschichte mit einer Tiefe, die mich vollkommen überzeugt hat. Ich habe mit ihnen gefühlt, gelitten und gehofft. Ich habe das Buch in einem Rutsch gelesen, weil ich einfach nicht aufhören wollte. Und als ich es beendet habe, blieb dieses seltene, wunderschöne Gefühl zurück. Für mich ist „Solange ein Streichholz brennt“ ein echtes Herzensbuch und eine absolute Empfehlung. Ich habe es nicht nur gelesen – ich habe es gefühlt und geliebt. Danke an den Autor. Danke für dieses Buch. Eine riesen Empfehlung von mir, bitte Lesen.

  Wow wow wow. Just when I thought I knew what was happening I was proven wrong time and time again. One of the most well written, thought out, complex thrillers I’ve read in a long time. Incredible descriptive language, cunning storytelling abilities and unbelievable twists. Had me on the edge of my seat the WHOLE time. I devoured it. A masterpiece.

If you're a librarian plotting world literary domination or a romance lover daydreaming of your next fictional adventure, this one’s for you. It made me laugh out loud, shed a happy tear, and—most importantly—made me want to curl up in a cozy bookstore with a stack of paperbacks. Stehl schafft mit ihrer liebevoll geschriebenen Story nicht nur einen Sehnsuchtsort, sondern auch einen Safe Space – für Träumerinnen, Kreative und alle, die Games lieben. Die cozy Atmosphäre zieht sich durch jede Seite: warme Getränke, Tastaturgeklapper, tiefe Gespräche – wie ein gemütlicher Abend mit Freunden. Was es für mich besonders macht, ist die authentische Einbindung der Gaming-Welt. Es geht um mehr als nur Games – es geht um Leidenschaft, Community und auch um die Schattenseiten der Branche. Alles wirkt echt und mit viel Herz erzählt. Dazu kommen Charaktere, die man einfach lieben muss: warm, verletzlich, stark und inspirierend. Man möchte mit ihnen abhängen, gemeinsam zocken, sie nicht gehen lassen. Ein cozy Wohlfühlbuch mit Gaming-Flair und ganz viel Herz – genau das, was ich gebraucht habe.
