Peter McLaughlin promovierte 1986 an der FU Berlin bei Margherita von Brentano. Lehr- und Forschungstätigkeit in Berlin, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Konstanz und Johns Hopkins (Baltimore). Seit 2003 Professor für Philosophie an der Universität Heidelberg.
