Ilan Pappé is an Israeli historian and professor who has consistently been one of the loudest anti-zionist voices. In "The ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" he describes the early days of the state of Israel, starting with the early roots of zionism in the 20th century. He describes the Nakba, the forcible removal of indigenous Palestinians from their homeland, as well as the massacres that took place across Palestine shortly after the founding of Israel. An incredible valuable source filled with quotes from historical documents, a must-read for anyone interested in the roots of the current conflict.
