An absolute classic!

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

"The Romance of the three Kingdoms" is a very well-known novel and one of the four classic literature novels from China. Originally written around 1522, the book is divided in multiple chapters, staring with the rebellion of the Yellow Turbans and ending with the unification of the land by Western Jin. To be completely honest with you, I originally wanted to read this because of the Shin Sangoku Muso series and I felt a huge wave of reassurance, because in the first few pages, I just new it was going to be a good book. Sure, it was a bit hard, distinguishing all names and characters, since many characters do have another name, is known as, etc. But it was worth it, because this piece of history is unbelievably well written and its actually funny to read. But this isn't a purely historic recount of events, no, this is also a huge part fantasy and legend. Don't expect a wonderful comedy or something similar, but if you are into not so accurate historic novels and want to know something about a huge part of Chinese history, this is the book for you!
