Sydney Croft ist ein Synonym für ein Autoren- Team und Riding the Storm das erste Buch einer Reihe. Die Geschichte(die im Übrigen nicht abgeschlossen wird, sondern in den nächsten Bänden weiterlaufen wird) handelt im Großen und Ganzen von zwei verfeindeten Organisationen, die Menschen mit paranormalen Fähigkeiten beschäftigen, wobei eine für das Wohl der Menschheit arbeitet(ACRO) und die andere für den Profit(ITOR).
Riding the Storm führt einen in diese Welt ein, und dieses Mal sind Remy, der Stürme kontrollieren kann(bzw. auch von ihnen kontrolliert wird) und Haley(eine Parameteorologin, die paranormale Wetterphänomene untersucht, und Remy für ACRO anwerben soll)die Hauptfiguren. Allerdings gibt es noch ein zweites Paar(wobei unklar ist, ob es in den nächsten Bänden noch eine Rolle spielen wird oder nur in diesem Band), die Handlung springt also hin und her.
Das Buch ist gespickt mit vielen heißen Szenen, wobei angemerkt werden sollte, daß es auf jeden Fall für Erwachsene ist und auch eine Szene zwischen zwei Männern enthält. Das paranormale Element ist stark, aber es hätte ein klein wenig stärker als die Erotik sein können.
Für alle, die gerne heiße Erotik mit paranormalen Elementen lesen empfehlenswert, wer aber mehr Wert auf Romance/ Paranormales legt oder nicht gerne detaillierte Sexszenen liest, sollte entweder etwas anderes lesen oder hinterher nicht enttäuscht sein.
