Highlander-series 1

S. Fischer am 17.01.2021

Bewertungsnummer: 716688

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Hawk, a 16th-century lord from the Scottish highlands, is known as a superb lover, who doesn't stay for long with any woman. When the fairy queen praises his prowess in bed, her jealous king decides to have the fairy fool - Adam Black - punish Hawk. Adam decides to send him a beautiful and intelligent woman - who won't want him. He finds the right candidate 400 years in the future. After a painful experience, Adrienne has sworn to never fall for a man again, least of all a good-looking womanizer. When she is sent back in time and finds herself in an arranged marriage with Hawk, she does her best to keep her distance. But Hawk is quite attracted to his beautiful and headstrong wife, and also extremely jealous of his new blacksmith, Adam Black, who is clearly trying to seduce her. A battle of seduction ensues... This book is not at all a realistic historic romance, but purely escapist entertainment. As such, it's very pleasurable, with romance, atmosphere, an attractive hero and heroine who both have hidden depths, and the fairies are great, too. I sometimes find the lack of historical realism somewhat jarring, but apart from that it's great fun. I would recommend the series, which continues with 'To tame a highland warrior'.
