The Wolf-Cub: A Novel of Spain, written by Patrick Casey and published in 1918, is a historical fiction novel that takes place during the Spanish Civil War. The story follows the life of a young boy named Juan, who is orphaned after his parents are killed in a bombing. Juan is taken in by a group of soldiers who are fighting against the Nationalist forces led by General Franco. As Juan grows up, he becomes a skilled fighter and a key member of the resistance movement. He is given the nickname ""The Wolf-Cub"" because of his bravery and cunning on the battlefield. Throughout the novel, Juan must navigate the dangerous and unpredictable world of war, facing challenges such as betrayal, loss, and heartbreak. The book also explores the political and social issues of the time, including the struggle between the Nationalist and Republican forces, the role of religion in Spanish society, and the impact of war on ordinary people. The Wolf-Cub is a gripping and emotional tale of one boy's journey through a turbulent period in Spanish history, and his fight for freedom and justice. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
