Marcus Haward is an associate professor in the School of Government at the University of Tasmania. He is also a member of the Australian delegation's Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting and a member of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources. Tom Griffiths is the W. K. Hancock Professor of History at the Australian National University and author of Slicing the Silence: Voyaging to Antarctica, which won the Prime Minister's Prize for Australian History. Richard Woolcott, AC, is a former Australian diplomat, having held such positions as ambassador, High Commissioner, and Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
