Never Alone

Sabrina aus Wien am 11.08.2014

Bewertungsnummer: 382955

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

"What's Left of Me" by Kat Zhang is the first book of the "Hybrid Chronicles". Addie and Eva are sisters who, like everybody else, were born sharing the same body. Unlike the others though, they didn't settle during their childhood years. This means that the recessive soul didn't leave their body for the dominant one to keep, but stayed. That's what now classifies them as a "Hybrid" and subsequently lands them in an institution to be cured. But why is it considered such a bad thing? The sisters opt for fighting to save their lives - both of them... In the beginning the idea of two souls sharing one body reminded me of Stephenie Meyer's "The Host", but the story goes in a totally different direction and really gets you thinking. Privacy and the ability to control your own body get a whole new meaning. Even though I can't put my finger on it I felt like there was something missing for me in this book. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading it and am curious as to how things are going to develop in "Once we were".
