Michael Soyka, 1959 in Berlin geboren, studierte Medizin in Kiel, Würzburg, London und München und arbeitete 20 Jahre an der Psychiatrischen Klinik der Universität München. Er ist Professor für Psychiatrie, hat zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Artikel und Bücher speziell zum Thema und Sucht und forensische Psychiatrie veröffentlicht und mehrere Wissenschaftspreise erhalten. Daneben hat er mehrere Jahre als Kolumnist für die Münchner »Abendzeitung« gearbeitet. Seit 2006 ist er Direktor der Psychiatrischen Privatklinik Meiringen/Schweiz und lebt in Ringgenberg/Interlaken und München.
