A highlight of the series

S. Fischer am 11.01.2021

Bewertungsnummer: 734111

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

When Lieutenant Eve Dallas finds out about severe corruption in a police unit dealing with illegal narcotics, she and her usual partners, including her husband Rourke, have their work cut out for them. To bring down cops who don't even stop at murder, they have to keep their investigation secret from people within the police system, while digging up clues and protecting potential victims. And it's personal because these corrupt cops dishonour everything Eve and her team stand for... The series is always well-written and intelligent, but this was a real highlight. It has a great plot and delves into questions of honour, duty and what makes a good cop and a good team leader. It also develops the relationship between Eve and Rourke a bit more, although this is on the backburner compared to other titles. I enjoyed this book a lot and had a heard time putting it down. I wouldn't recommend starting the series with it. Try 'Naked in death' if you haven't read J. D. Robb yet.
