Die unsichtbaren Städte

Okay.. look.. I get why people like it, I do. Its beautifully written. The idea isn't bad at all either. But literally everything I researched about the book itself was so much more interesting to me than reading the book. There is no point to anything. There is no story, there are no characters (not really anyways). And the fact that all of it is fiction makes it uninteresting to me. No one ever said these things to anyone. None of these cities are real either. Personal opinion: there is no point to reading this. I'd rather imagine my own fictive cities than read about someone else's. Beautifully written, but it doesn't even make me rethink some deeper meaning on anything. Which, I'm guessing, it's meant to do. If you like prose poems you will love this book. If you need at the very least a story line, characters or some sort of meaning to reading a book, like me, you will not enjoy this book, and that's okay too. Isn't it great that we don't all have the same opinion on stuff?
