Rezension

Superb, many-stranded and grimly topical . . . Picoult binds together precarious alliances with sensitivity, giving depth to characters without losing pace. Inhabited by contradictory, flawed individuals, this intelligent novel draws suspense, moral complexity and a stunning final twist out of what initially seemed a monochrome situation The Times

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

I definitely recommend reading this book!

I absolutely loved reading "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult! I really liked the fact that you get to know many different perspectives, it helps you to understand the story and especially to be able to know why the characters act the way they do. The book is not only about the main conflict - bullying and the shooting - it's also about friendship, family, conflicts in a parent-child-relationship and the biggest one is the question of guilt. While reading the book, I changed my opinion many times and every time I got to learn something new, I started to view the story from a different point and sympathised with different characters. The whole story made me think a lot and I still think about it a lot, although I've finished it a while ago. It's definitely worth reading and I have to admit, I would have loved to analise parts of the book/characterised people or outlined certain parts of the conflicts in the book at school, because there are so many things I need to talk about or write about now. For those, who feel the same: There are several questions to discuss at the end of the book. All in all, I totally recommend this story to anyone, you won't regret reading it.
