The Goldfinch Winner of the Pulitzer Prize 2014 and nominated for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2014

If you have not read that book yet, this is your sign to go ahead and buy it. Throughout the novel Donna Tartt kept me on tip toes eager to find out what‘s going to happen next, what tragic plans the universe has got in store for Theo and in what way the little goldfinch is flutters briefly before landing - once again - in the same helpless spot. It‘s fascinating how Donna Tartt manages to alter the genre of the book within only a couple of chapters. I do have to admit that I liked the first half / three quarters more than the end, yet it is undeniably an amazing must-read novel.

The world that Donna Tartt creates around her heroes is dark and fascinating at the same time. Theo, the main character, is struggling after his mother's death, and you just cannot stop reading hoping he will manage (and he will in the end), although he has to go through lot of trouble. If you liked Secret History, you won't be disappointed.

This book is so good, I couldn't stop reading it! The plot is so intricate and full of tension; the characters are so well written, they feel like real people. I never wanted this book to end. You should really read it, but be prepared to feel many feelings throughout!
