After new evidence comes up, Comissario Brunetti reopens a case, a murder case closed too soon. Donna Leon really has a feeling for the Venetian social life, her style is captivating from page one to the last. With Donna Leon you not only read about a case, but you also get involved in Venice itself. It’s more than a sightseeing tour, the author mentions habits you wouldn’t see as a tourist. After having read all the previous volumes of the series, I still can’t get enough from the main characters, I find Brunetti and his wife Paola very pleasing. Their various dialogues together are a gem. Also to mention are Paola’s mouthwatering dishes. How delightful it would be to sit around their table enjoying a meal and conversation. It’s always a pleasure reading her books and I can’t wait to dive into the next of the series. Maybe I will just do that.
