Rezension

The book is helpful to researchers and teachers working on teaching of second language as a reference guide to ESL Teaching concepts. It serves as a good supplement to theories in ESL. A comparison of the traditional methods and the modern teaching technique, without subscribing to any particular method is impressive.
LinguistList
It is a very nice contribution to the field because of its theoretical/conceptual and innovative presentation of the topics. A valuable resource for researchers, graduate students and anyone interested in language teaching and language acquisition with a particular reference to input and processing.
Pedro Guijarro-Fuentes, Associate Professor in Spanish, University of Plymouth
This textbook provides a clear introduction to key issues in the teaching of second languages. Each of its chapters contains useful information for trainee and more experienced teachers, as both groups will find ideas based on research findings on how languages are learned.
Professor María del Pilar García Mayo, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU)
The concepts presented are clearly demonstrated and accompanied by concrete examples, drawing upon effective classroom strategies, thus encouraging implementation. The questions raised are pertinent and encourage readers to
engage with the material. As well, a tailored bibliography of suggested reading
accompanies each chapter, providing a useful guide for exploring the topic further.
Discussions on feedback and language input are provided alongside SLA methodology, inciting the reader to reflect on genuine classroom practices. Simultaneously, there is an emphasis on sound judgment in implementing instruction,
based on informed choices with respect to both learner processes and communicative
approaches. The author demonstrates a balanced viewpoint towards language teaching and reflects contemporary attitudes that are widely adopted by language instructors.
