Ein wunderschönes Mädchenbuch voller Wärme Was für ein wunderschönes Buch! Voller Mitgefühl geschrieben, dazu unterhaltsam, informativ und spannend. Mehr kann man sich nicht wünschen! Vom ersten Moment an hat man Mitgefühl mit Amy, die nur von allen herumgestoßen wird - außer Aurelia, der Tochter ihrer reichen und hochnäsigen Herrschaft. Die beiden Mädchen schließen eine Freundschaft, die über den Tod hinaus anhält. Als Aurelia, die Amy als Baby blaugefroren im Schnee gefunden hatte, mit Mitte 20 stirbt, hat sie noch ein letztes Geheimnis, das Amy bei einer Art Schnitzeljagd durch halb England Stück für Stück entdeckt. Dabei erlebt man das viktorianische England und die Ansichten und Entwicklungen jener Zeit. Trotzdem ist das Buch aber nicht so langweilig-oberlehrerhaft, wie man das bei historischen Romanen oft findet. Die Handlung bleibt praktisch, man sieht die Entwicklung beider Mädchen in ihrem unterschiedlichen Umfeld. Ein sehr empfehlenswerter, anregender und informativer Roman, der noch dazu mit einer warmen und überzeugenden Sprache zu bestechen weiß! Ich habe das Buch erst auf Englisch und dann auf Deutsch gelesen und habe beides genossen.
