Die Geschichte von Black Beauty ist ja hinreichend bekannt. Ein stattlicher Hengst, der nach der Blütezeit der Jugend aufgrund der Insolvenz seiner Gutsherrenbesitzer verkauft wird und in einer Abwärtsspirale ein immer schlechteres Los zieht, um glücklicherweise nach einer Zeit voller Leid und Traurigkeit wieder in gute Hände zu kommen.
Ich möchte vor allem etwas über speziell diese Ausgabe von Puffin Clothbound Classics (ISBN 9780241411148) etwas sagen. Für den Preis ist die Ausgabe nämlich wirklich wundervoll. Das Papier ist wertig, die gebundene Ausgabe kommt in einem Leineneinband mit schillernden Elementen (Blüten und Banner) im Cover. Wer die Geschichte von Black Beauty im englischsprachigen Original lesen möchte, kann mit dieser Ausgabe preislich nichts falsch machen, und sie sieht prächtig aus!
