Mary Higgins Clark fesselt vom ersten Satz an. Die Spannung hält bis zum Ende, welches aber keine grosse Ueberraschung mehr bietet. Detailsbeschreibungen von Menschen, Umgebung (Deluxe Kreuzfahrtenschiff), Kleider, Kulinarik, Luxus, sind hautnah und verführerisch. Das Buch liest man mit Freude, aber kaum ein zweites Mal.

Da die Bücher von MHC immer nach dem gleichen Schema ablaufen, weiß der Leser eigentlich schon was ihn erwartet. Trotzdem mag ich die Bücher gerne lesen. Die Kapitel sind angenehm kurz gehalten, die Geschichte fließt und man hat das Buch spätestens in 3 Tagen (die deutsche Fassung sicherlich schneller) gelesen. So auch hier.
