On a week long journey to the United States another cruel murderer is up to mischief. Meanwhile the Moonlight Carnival and its charming ringleader Mephistopheles turn Audrey Rose's world upside down. Now she has to solve the mistery and find out what the carnival has to do with it, because every trace leads to Mephistopheles and his crew and Thomas grows more and more jealous as Audrey spends more and more time with the ringmaster. Though I was really up for the carnival theme and loved the new characters, somehow the book was just not as good as the first two installments. To be honest I was actually underwhelmed... Maybe this is, because I liked "Hunting Prince Dracula" so much and knew who the murderer was from the first time he/she was introduced. Anyway let's hope for a good final.

So gerne ich Audrey und Thomas habe und ich finde sie wirklich toll, aber das Buch war echt eine schwere Geburt. Über 500 Seiten auf einem Schiff, auf dem ein paar Morde geschehen, war jetzt nicht so spannend, wie gedacht. Nach dem Prinzip: „The Show must go on“ trudeln jeden Abend die Gäste der ersten Klasse, wenn auch immer mit etwas Schwund, in den Saal, um die nächste Aufführung zu sehen. Mal ehrlich, ich täte mich in meiner Kabine einschließen. Ich fand es sehr langwierig. Nur wegen des dynamischen Duos und der Tatsache, dass ich es bis zum Schluss nicht herausgefunden habe, landet dieser Teil in der goldenen Mitte.
