"The Blood Spell" is the fourth installment of the "Ravenspire" series by C.J. Redwine, but can also be read as a stand-alone. Blue has known and loathed Prince Kellan for as long as she can remember. But when tragedy strikes and Blue loses the person dearest to her heart, whilst Kellan and his kingdom are threatened by an evil witch, they have to overcome their differences and work together. Maybe, just maybe, they will make a better team than either of them expected. I loved the characters in this book, especially Blue. I admire her honest, caring and just personality and her growth throughout the story. The plot itself is gripping, as always, and combines the elements of the original fairytale and Redwines additions and changes rather well. The author just knows how to take widely known and beloved classics and make them her own. I highly recommend this book to every fan of fantasy novels and/or fairytale retellings.
