Diese romcom hat wirklich mal etwas mehr spice und trotzdem eine gewisse Tiefe – eine Kombi bei der mir nicht langweilig wurde! Die Hauptcharaktere waren sehr sympathisch, hatten beide ihre Päckchen zu tragen und wuchsen im Lauf der Geschichte über sich hinaus. Es gab misscommunication aber die Lösung fand ich gut gemacht und das Ende hat mir gefallen, auch wenn dann doch alles ein bisschen schnell ging aber gut, es ist nunmal eine romcom. Irgendwie war sie genau das was ich erwartet hatte und dann auch wieder nicht.

Clara is from a "good" family whose members are often involved in scandals so she promised her mother never to cause one. But when her best friend, with whom she is secretly in love, invites her to LA she can't resist. Only this friend drops her off in the apartment and says he is now going on tour and has sublet his room. She wants to go back immediately, but since her rejected aunt lives in LA and the lodger Josh seems to be nice, she stays for the time being. When she learns about Josh's job she has to inform herself and gets to know sides that she has never noticed before. But Josh could have any and she is so inconspicuous. Josh is annoyed by his agent and the studio who want to force him to make extreme films, which he doesn't want as he respects women despite his genre. And then Clara shows up and messes up even more but he's scum, isn't he? The two alternate with the narration, and so we get a round picture of the whole situation. Clara is torn between family and her own life, which was portrayed well, not too annoying. Josh struggles with his future. He loves his work but the studio has deprived him of many opportunities and this makes him feel small. I especially like the interaction of the two at the beginning as they can both be very funny. Later, both of them get a lot of uncertainty which sometimes was a bit exhausting, because a real conversation never took place, it was all just assumptions. There are some erotic scenes, but they are limited, which I like very much despite Josh's job, because it feels normal. You get what you expect and are very well entertained. I also like dealing with prejudices. I think this will be more intense in the second part, because it is about a woman from the field.
