Dieses Buch hat es geschafft! Es ist bis jetzt mein Jahreshightlight 2022. Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass das Buch mir sooo gut gefallen würde. Der Schreibstil ist leicht und flüssig. Der Humor der Autorin traf genau meinen ;) musste so oft lachen. Ein perfekter Rom-Com für den Sommer.
Erzählt wird aus der Sicht von Henley, die in einem Marketing Unternehmen arbeitet und endlich nach so langer Zeit ihre Beförderung erhalten wird. Das Problem an der Sache: Graeme, ihr Mitarbeiter und ihr größter Feind, will ebenfalls die Beförderung. Um die Sache etwas spannender zu machen, schickt ihr Boss sie auf eine Kreuzfahrt. Wer am Ende die beste Marketing Idee hat, wird den Job erhalten. Wer wird es sein?
Ich kann das Buch an alle weiterempfehlen, die Enemies-to-Lovers, Workplace Romance und eine leichte Geschichte für den Sommer suchen <3

This feel-good romance won’t just make you swoon, but also feel invincible.
Henley Evans has big goals for her career and does everything in her power to meet them. Which means, between her demanding day job and taking night classes for her MBA, there’s virtually no time left to spend with family or friends. When she’s shortlisted for a long-awaited promotion she’s determined to get it. Unfortunately, it is her arch-nemesis whom she has to outrival in order to get it and, of course, it is him, of all people, whom she has to go on a cruise with in order to do just that.
„Shipped“ is the perfect book, if you are looking for something to help you escape from reality for a little while. It is an overall feel-good romance that features my beloved enemies-to-lovers trope, a strong female lead and touches on subjects such as misogyny and female empowerment.
Over the course of the story, Henley shows immense character growth – she learns to stand up for herself more and starts prioritizing a healthy work-life-balance over simply being successful, which I love.
Angie Hockman is great at depicting relationships. By that I don’t only mean those of a romantic nature, but also relationships between friends and, most of all, sisters. Rather than forced, they feel very authentic.
The cruise as a setting is very nice and reading about all the things the characters experience made me wish I was there, too. Even though, it’s not the main focus of the story, I like how the author also points out the importance of environmentalism.
If you enjoy uplifting rom-coms, „Shipped“ is the book for you.
