    A recap of troy's war

If you like history and you would like to understand better the war of troy, I recommend you reading this book. You will see the point of view of three women and how they fought through the patriarchy. I ended up loving Cassandra, to me she was the best character but everybody will feel connected with someone different. A 5 star read for sure!

    A good read!

Once you get started you can't put it down. It is so refreshing to read greek mythology from a female perspective. You feel with her and what she goes through. 10/10 would recommend!

    Wirklich toll

I loved this Book. It's great to see mythology through a female perspective. The messages are still relevant today, recommending this to everybody!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Tragedy after tragedy

When love is blind... When love gives hope... When love is so impossibly hurtful... Her brother is the dreaded Minotaur. Her mother is lethargic and the target of ridicule and scorn. And the man for whom she betrayed and abandoned her father and Crete leaves her to die on a deserted island. While Ariadne's suffering seems to end with the arrival of the young god Dionysus, her sister Phaedra is married off to Theseus, who once abandoned Ariadne. It's obvious that, when reading this book, one slips from one tragedy into the next. Nevertheless, small moments of happiness flash through in between, showing the humanity and desires of the female narrators. Although Ariadne and Phaedra seem to merely be the toys of the men around them, it's especially the younger sister who breaks out of her existence as the damsel in distress. And Ariadne, over the course of the book, also learns to question things and make her own choices. Painfully, Saint tells the story of two women whose stories have often been put behind those of monsters and heroes. She gives them a voice and yet manages to keep them and their roles realistic for the time from which these myths originated.
