Experten aus verschiedenen Felder geben in ihren Essays Denkanstösse, wie man eine Fantasywelt realistischer schreiben kann. Darunter ist Grundwissen zu Wäldern, Pferden, Handel im Mittalalter, Essen und vieles mehr.
Einige der Essays sind Top andere hingegen eher Flop. Hilfreich ist jeweils das Verzeichnis zu weiterführender Literatur, sodass Lesende sich auf den Gebieten, die sie interessieren selbstständig weiterbilden können.
Eine interessante Art für mehr Realismus in Fantasy zu werben. Ich habe viele neue Impulse erhalten und würde das Buch Schreibenden empfehlen, die ihr Worldbuilding auf ein neues Level heben wollen. Es geht in diesem Buch nicht darum, alles perfekt zu machen, sondern offensichtliche Fehler zu vermeiden.
