Janet lebt Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts in ihrer eigenen Welt - der Natur zugetan und von ihrer Familie größtenteils abgelehnt nimmt sie uns mit in die bildgewaltige schottische Countryside. Auch wenn wir seit der ersten Seite wissen, dass sie gewaltsam sterben wird, ist der Weg dorthin so verwuchert wie ihr verwunschener Garten.
