A Haunting on the Hill Return to Shirley Jackson's classic ghost story for Halloween

I had high hopes for this novel as “The Haunting of Hill House” is one of my all time favourite horror novels. Unfortunately, the book did not live up to my expectations and I ended up being quite disappointed. What started out with a great premise - 4 people staying at Hill House to rehearse their play - quickly started to become boring. I was hoping for an explanation as to why Hill House does what is does/is what it is, but the story just felt like a repetition of the original story with very little new to it. I’ll stick to the original classic.
