Plot Coming back to Pine Falls honestly felt like stepping straight into a cozy small-town romcom—fake dating, city girl vs. grumpy local, all the classic vibes. I loved the setup right away, even if Zoey’s reason for being there felt a bit made up. Characters At the start, both leads came across as kinda prickly (Matt especially—his attitude was a lot), but once the sharp edges turned into banter and then something softer, I was really into it. Zoey’s drive to prove herself and Matt’s love for his sister made their story feel heartfelt. And Zoey’s bond with his autistic sister? That added so much warmth. Worldbuilding & Setting Pine Falls had that fun mix of small-town gossip and cozy Gilmore Girls energy. I just wish the side characters and the found family vibe had been fleshed out more, but overall it still gave me those comforting small-town feels. Writing Style The writing pulled me in and kept a nice balance between drama and lighter moments. Toward the end it dragged a little and sometimes the characters didn’t quite act the way I expected, but it was still such an easy, fast read. Recommendation A sweet, heartfelt romance with the perfect mix of swoon, humor, and small-town charm. If you’re into fake dating, grumpy/sunshine vibes, and a bit of business drama on the side, you’ll probably love this one.
