Das Buch ist auf seine eigene Art ein Meisterwerk. Nachdem man die erste Seite liest ist man entweder verstört/angeekelt oder wird von der Geschichte gepackt. Der Hauptcharakter ist kein guter Mensch; mit sehr misogynen Zügen, einen Hang zum Alkohol und sehr fragwürdige Ansichten über Beziehungen und Liebe. Genau dieses Detail des unsympathischen Hauptcharakter, dessen moralische Werte man nicht haben wollen würde macht das ganze erst interessant. Während die Geschichte den Leser in die Perspektive des Frauenhassenden Herzensbrecher bringt, dabei gegen viele modernen Trends und Werte geht ist das Buch zum Schluss ein wahrer Page Turner.

I loved this book so much even though the protagonist is a questionable and sociopathic Person. The way it’s written is great and it kept me hooked till the very end. It was just super interesting to read.

Can be confusing because of the time warps but I think that’s on purpose. Make you feel like the story teller: mad, toxic, confused, in love Love the colloquial style of writing! It’s like your friend’s coming clean about their life to you

It lefts 45 pages to the end of my reading and what can I say... It was good, but not for 10-13 Euros. I was seeking for the fictional paper books, no matter on what language, anyway english and german are not my first mother tongues. I had found information about this book, that it's disgusting. And I am interested in such "literature" about bad people. I had read 10 pages before buying and I felt kinda comfort in this text for myself, so from the start everything was okay and high-hoping. On the third half of the book the text sounds like a long Roskolnikov's monologue, but without high speaking level of language. The main character is your mate, who is draining in his own problems, thoughts, troubles with life and you are just a self willing friend of him, who decided it would be a cool idea listening to your mate's yapping about his breakups for five hours straight. The main character has his own vision of life, ideas and I like it from the start. But now I'm just exhausted with his speaking, and glad, that the author had spoke from his heart and maybe relief himself from burdens of his own life.

'The Diary of an Oxygen Thief' hat mir gut gefallen. Es zeigt, dass nicht immer actiongeladene Ereignisse notwendig sind, um eine Geschichte zu erzählen. Die subtile Art, sich auf den Protagonisten und seine Gedankenwelt einzulassen, macht das Buch besonders. Wer bereit ist sich auf diese introspektive Reise einzulassen, wird mit einer interessanten Geschichte belohnt.
