This book was a true pleasure to read. It's beautiful in it's own way. Normally I'm not a fan of books with different perspectives, but this one was different. I loved the way the story was told and the way each fragment intertwined perfectly with eachother, to create something great, something new, to build this story. It surprised me. The characters showed that even in a world of cruel violence and injustice, there might be something else for them afterall. Additionally, I think this book just did a great job creating a safe space by including pronouns, different genders, different sexualities and most importantly respecting them without offensive questioning or hate (at least the main characters). All of that with occasional, casual mentioning - without putting all the focus on that, making it normal that different people exsist, which I absolutely loved. And I especially love Evelyn ;)

A very nice book! If you are looking for a queer story about finding freedom, magic and pirates, this is definitely the book for you. The world-building is only to adore and I had a really good time reading it !
