Christmas at the Scottish Lodge A totally addictive snowy winter romance set in Scotland

Mairi is an author and supposed to finish one of her books. The only problem is she can´t finish the story. Might be that the biggest heartbreak and secret she kept the last 11 months is the reason for it. She has enough and decides now is the perfect time to hand over divorce papers to her husband as she hasn´t seen him after his ski accident which caused his professional carrier to end and also avoided that they tell everybody that they secretly got married. Mairi assumed Jed would happily sign and she could go back to Edinburgh. The only problem is her husband is not willing to sign them even so he is still not talking to her. When his aunt who is running Holly Berry Lodge in the Scottish Highlands gets sick, Mairi help out as also to her she feels like family after spending so much time with her brother with Effie, after their parents passed away. So when she starts decorating the lodge as we have December, takes care of the guests and Effie will she also get closer to her secret husband or can she find her closure? Well it is a typical Christmas novel but unfortunately it could not really convince me. Still I give it 3 stars as there are funny characters in it, has a nice setting and flair but the love story could not convince me. Jed had a very bad accident and his body is ready to compete in races but his mind is not ready for it. The reason why he stayed away from his wife for the last 11 months I can´t really understand and I don´t like it. Mairi married secretly her crush who is also her brother´s best friend. I can understand that she finally wants a divorce as she sees no future with him. The two together could not really convince me. For me there was no real chemistry and as they know each other since so many years should she not understand him better? The spicy scenes between them was Ok but beside that I didn´t feel them as a couple. At some point the story was dragging for me and I was not into it any longer. Who wants to read a typical Christmas story where you know how it ends with a nice setting and funny side characters should check this out.
