Portrait

Contributing writers: Award-winning CFDA designer Christian Siriano has established himself as a tour de force in the fashion world since launching his eponymous collection in 2008 following his studies in London under Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. Siriano’s designs have been worn by today’s biggest names, including Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Zendaya, and Ariana Grande, to name but a few. Having celebrated over 15 years of the brand, the Siriano design studio continues to celebrate beauty and diversity in this ever-changing fashion industry. As a result, Christian’s work has been featured in a multitude of prestigious museum exhibits including at SCAD in Savannah and Atlanta, The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Kensington Palace, the V&A, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and The MET Costume Institute. In 2008, Christian was named among Time’s 100 Most Influential People for his leading contributions to body diversity on the runway and red carpet. Rachel Syme is a New York-based writer, reporter and cultural critic and has written for The New Yorker since 2012. Her cultural criticism and reported features focus primarily on the intersections of women's lives, artistic production, history, and fame, and have appeared in the Times Magazine, Vogue, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. David Wills is an author, publisher, and photographic preservationist. His books as author include Veruschka (Assouline); Ara Gallant (Damiani); Marilyn Monroe: Metamorphosis (HarperCollins); Audrey: The 60s (HarperCollins); Hollywood in Kodachrome (HarperCollins); Seventies Glamour (HarperCollins); Switched On: Women Who Revolutionized Style in the ’60s (Weldon Owen); Vegas Gold (HarperCollins); Nat King Cole: Stardust (Nailor Wills); Shag: Palm Springs (Nailor Wills); Julius Shulman Color (Nailor Wills); and Nancy Sinatra: One for Your Dreams (Nailor Wills).
