But I Hate Him

Overall rating: 5.0 “But I Hate Him” by Page Powers was an absolute surprise for me. I expected it to be funny, but not that hilarious and witty and sweet at the same time - totally a five-star read. The plot isn’t predictable and has some nice twists and turns as it follows Rory through an academic summer camp together with his enemy Luca - who, in Rory’s mind, is an oblivious hockey himbo but also the smartest guy he’s ever met. Both Rory and Luca are undeniably smart and intelligent, yet also so oblivious when it comes to love that “idiots to lovers” never fit a couple better. "It's hard to forget someone who discovered thirteen planets,” yet Rory still doesn’t get it. I liked that, besides the two MCs, the side characters were also interesting and had depth and truly elevated the story. I also liked that the chapters have titles, which made me giggle every time. This was totally a five-star read, and I’m excited to start Page Powar’s other book now.
