This book snuck up on me. It’s got that sad boy energy—soft, aching, introspective—but told through a voice that feels fresh and sharp. Jinwoo Chong’s writing style is smooth and modern, balancing emotional depth with this effortless kind of cool that makes every sentence land just right.
It’s not loud. It’s not dramatic. It’s the kind of story that hums in the background of your mind while you’re reading, then suddenly you’re three chapters deep, emotionally entangled, and wondering when exactly it hooked you.
The themes? Corona, identity, time, memory—woven together with this dreamlike quality that sometimes makes you question what’s real and what’s metaphor. It’s clever, but not pretentious. And it’s sad, yeah, but in a reflective, grown-up way that leaves you feeling… peaceful, not shattered.
I didn’t cry. But I felt it.
Highly recommend if you want a quieter kind of emotional hit—a story that doesn’t scream, but absolutely lingers.
