"Paperweight" ist nichts für schwache Nerven - die Essstörung von Stevie ist sehr realistisch dargestellt und da die Geschichte aus ihrer Perspektive erzählt wird, taucht man tief in die (düsteren) Gedanken ab. Dadurch wird man von der Geschichte gefesselt und obwohl so einige Szenen traurig sind, zeigt dieses Buch gut wie vielfältig die Gründe/Ursachen für eine Essstörung sein können und wie wichtig Hilfe ist und dass es trotz so einer schwierigen Krankheit immer Hoffnung gibt.

I have an eating disorder myself and definitely felt seen when reading this book for it's very relatable. What's more, it is beautifully written and the characters' emotions are tangible at all times. The whole experience and comfort of an eating disorder which destroys one's life simultaneously was portrayed just as it is in real life as well, at least for me and I really appreciate that. Contrary to all that, one certainly shouldn't read this if they're ill with an eating disorder as well as it's extremely triggering due to all the detail and to some point, romanticizing of the condition. I'd still highly recommend this book, just be mindful of what it entails and have compassion for yourself.
