This monograph explores what holds society together and what contribution religion, through the Protestant Church as a church for society, makes to this cohesion. This is not merely, as one might assume, a practical and tangible matter, as if the Church could only be experienced and socially accepted through a hands-on proclamation in the form of diakonia (service) as active charity.
