James C. Dabhi is the Director of the Centre for Culture and Development (CCD) in Sevasi, Vadodara, Gujarat. Previously, he served as the Research Director at the Human Development and Research Centre at St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad. He has been the country Director for the Afghanistan Research and Development Institute (ARDI) in Kabul and taught at government universities in Herat and Bamiyan, Afghanistan. He also served as the Executive Director of the Indian Social Institute in New Delhi. He holds a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and a PhD in Sociology. He has authored and co-authored books and articles on social issues, organisation, education, development and gender.

Kanchan Bharati is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Culture and Development in Vadodara. She holds a PhD in Sociology with a focus on Social Gerontology. Her research interests include ageing and wellbeing, as well as broader issues such as suicide, marriage, labour markets, and migration. She has published papers on ageing and socially relevant issues in leading journals and edited volumes. She has also authored and co-authored books.
