My new favorite book!

Elena am 05.04.2026

Bewertungsnummer: 3100121

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

I absolutely love this book!!! The tale is simple but chilling, the characters psychologically super interesting and the plot has a feministic touch. I will definitely read this again and highly recommend this book to everyone. It is also relatively easy to read in English for people who want to practice their second language!

OSIANDER Stuttgart – Das GERBER

Zum Portrait

5/5

"Merricat, said Connie, would you like a cup of tea? Oh no, said Merricat, you'll poison me!"

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Ever since their entire family died of arsenic poisoning, sisters Mary Katherine and Constance and their demented uncle Julian have lived in the family estate by themselves. All is well until the day their Cousin Charles arrives, an invader to their peaceful life. Merricat must try her hardest to protect her family, and as she resorts to increasingly sinister actions, one can't help but cheer her on. Childish, earnest and playful as she is, there is something cruel and violent lurking beneath, getting more and more apparent over the course of the story as it finally concludes in tragedy. And yet, all she feels is glee. “Oh Constance, we are so happy.”
