Be ready to get scared!

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Sunshine Griffin is an ordinary girl who has to move from her hometown into a foggy creepy village at the end of the world. She is different to other teens her age but she already put up with the fact that others stare at here because she dresses like she lived in the last century. She put up with the fact that she is just Sunshine: Abandoned by her natural parents when she was only a few hours old. Raised by a caring mother who loved her like her own child. In any case, she thinks she is. But what happens in the new house isn't ordinary at all. Sunshine starts to hear footsteps in the middle of the night. She hears (or imagines?) laughter of a child. Strange that her mother doesn't seem to hear them at all. Is it just Sunshines imagination that invents sounds of a ten-year-old girl? Are they just usual sounds like branches scratching her window, the wind howling at night? But then her mother starts to act different too. She doesn't speak, doesn't behave like the woman Sunshine thought raised her. She discovers that the reality, as she knew it, would never be the same again. Sunshine has to face the truth about her origin. She has to deal with everything her parents already had to deal with. This novel made jumpy and honestly it was the creepiest book I've ever read. I don't recommend reading The Haunting of Sunshine Girl at night, home alone, in the middle of a storm. I suggest reading it outside in the sunshine with a lot of people nearby. But all in all the story was really orinial and I liked the way it was written. This book is based on a web series found on Youtube called The Haunting of Sunshine Girl Network. It's a bit different to the videos posted there but the main story remained the same.
