Finally completed my collection

I read all of mxtz novels and with this last volume I have finally completed my collection. Very happy. It's obviously a very specific genre, but I like the settings and it's nice to have some light readings from time to time

Good, but not Great

overall this volume (the finale) was the weakest for me. the series really has a lot of intrigue and good arcs (with yi city being my favorite), but its pacing is its biggest fault; in my personal opinion, the vast amount of throwbacks make the actual story in the present progress rather awkwardly. the throwbacks in itself are not badly written or irrelevant, its just that they feel so abundant and fleshed out that the finale, in its abruptness, gives you quite a whiplash. it feels rushed, short even. if the author prolonged the plot and refined the finer details of it, this couldve easily been a 5/5 rating. (SPOILER!) I do enjoy the whole idea of the hidden genius of Nie Huaisang, and the endless loop of the peoples need to find the villain amid their own (i.e Wei Wuxian, Jin Guangyao etc.), even if those very `villains` are endlessly the victims of their own circumstances. i do not mean to say that their victimhood makes them incapable of cruelty and fault, but had their birth been of a kinder way, what kind of person would they have been able to turn into instead?
