This duology is a sequel to the Serpent & Dove series, set a few months after the events of Gods & Monsters and centers around Célie. She completely surprised me, she went from the perfect and shy 'other woman' to a strong willed and curious feminist icon! Célie joined the Chasseurs, and becomes the first huntswoman, and is determined to prove herself. But she ist still haunted by her past and now a newer, and darker evil rises and she doesn't want to cower before this new threat. I was happy to dive into the world of Belterra again, to reconnect with old characters, but also meet new, exciting ones.
