... and then I have read the whole book in one day! 12 young adults are chosen to participate in an air race through Europe, it is meant to be a friendly sporting event and to promote peace amongst the nations. But set shortly before the second World War tensions are extremely high between the contestants. More so, when one of the contestants is forced to crash on the first day of the race. I was completely hooked from the beginning of the book. We follow Stella North, the only female participant, which adds to the nail-biting tension, and gradually we learn that everyone hides a turbulent and violent past and could be capable to be a murderer.
