I loved this short novel so much. I didn't read the Crowns of Nyaxia yet, but it wasn't a problem at all. The book is very well written, I cared for both characters, Lilith and Vale and I adored their story! A few more pages would have been great, but that doesn't diminish the story in any way, I just wish I could escape into the storyline a little longer :)

She’s Lilith’s only remaining family. Lilith is a scientist who has spent her whole life studying and researching. She spends the little money she has on test equipment. The people in her village are traditional and devout, so she walks a fine line between being a scientist and being accused of heresy. When her sister’s condition deteriorates further, Lilith believes that there might be only one option left. She’s heard rumors about a vampire who lives far outside of town in an old, abandoned-looking villa. One day, she decides to visit him and offer a deal: six vials of his blood in exchange for six of her magical roses. She knows she is striking a bargain with the devil, but saving lives is more important to her than anything else. She’s convinced that his blood is the key to the cure and the answer to her prayers. This is their story of life, death, and love. Opinion: This novella is one of my top three reads of 2024 and proudly sits on my "God Tier" trophy shelf. In my opinion, it’s as close to perfect as a book can be. Though it’s only a little over 200 pages long, it felt like a full-length novel. It’s an absolutely heart-crushing yet beautiful story of love, loss and sacrifice, and I loved every minute of it. There are no "buts" or "ifs. After finishing Lilith and Vale’s story, I felt nothing but contentment. Lilith is strong, determined, curious, and so very unafraid. She has a beautiful mind. Vale is alluring and smart, and he exudes authority and strength. There’s a big softie hiding under a thick layer of grumpiness. "You want more than I can give you." "I can't imagine that being true. Because I only want you, Lilith. Whatever of you I can have. I'll take one night. One hour. One minute. Whatever you want to give me. I'll have it." Their love and devotion to each other is just gut-wrenchingly beautiful. The angst, longing, and chemistry between them are palpable. When they work together, they embody the idea that nothing can stop them. Their banter is just the icing on the cake. They have truly won me over. Although this novella can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading it between books one and two of the Crowns of Nyaxia series. Both Lilith and Vale play a part in The Ashes and the Star Cursed King. Story: 6 ⭐️ Spice: 2 ️
