The 50th Hunger Games, the second quarter quell, along Haymitch Abernathy we enter the games… I‘ve already read the book twice now and I am still not sure if I can write a cohesive sounding review about it. But I’ve got to say something. So here we go: To know the outcome of these games and what becomes of a good portion of the characters did not take away from experiencing this book. How the story weaves its threads into the already existing tapestry, enriches and strengthens the whole picture… mh mh mmmh. To accompany and learn more about a character we have known for 3 books already and to read about his story, his love, his trauma is a bittersweet treat. I was in tears in the end. I still have questions. I still think about the story and the characters. I still could read more about Panem. And that is what makes a good story. That‘s all I got to say. Kein Buch hat mich jemals so gebrochen wie SOTR. Ich konnte es nicht weglegen, meine Gedanken waren die ganze Zeit bei der Geschichte. Haymitch‘s Geschichte ist unfassbar tragisch und keine Worte können diesem Buch gerecht werden. Es war wundervoll zurück nach Panem zu reisen. Und die Arena dieser Spiele ist nach der aus ‘Catching Fire’ meine Liebste. Es gibt so viele Parallelen zwischen Haymitch und Katniss - von ihrem Umgang mit den anderen Tributen bis zum Kampf gegen das Kapitol. Haymitch hat alles riskiert in der Arena und zwischenzeitlich alles verloren. Mit gerade mal 16 Jahren. Es ist grausam und herzzerreißend. Einen Aspekt, den ich geliebt habe: dass Haymitch mit Katniss Vater befreundet war (). Und dass all die bekannten Charaktere bereits bei den 50th Hunger Games eine Rolle gespielt haben, besonders Plutarch und Effie. Ich hätte so unfassbar gerne mehr Informationen zu Plutarchs Rolle in dem ganzen System. Er ist ein unfassbar interessanter und tiefgründiger Charakter. Ein unfassbar tolles Buch, möglicherweise mein Liebstes aus dem ganzen Universum.
