The Strength of the Few

The first book was a real page turner though a bit flat in character development). This one : the first half is just as promising and a fast read (3 parallel worlds, a giant sometimes not so tame wolf, a chariot race, zombies, druids…) , clearly aiming at televising: but the writing gets sloppy ( editing might have helped) and far too many mindless bloodbaths happen. The author also really seems to enjoy killing off characters I started to care for. This was really offputting, and the excess of blood spilling didn’t help. Not sure I’m looking forward to book 3 now.

Ein absolutes Meisterwerk. Ich habe den ersten Teil schon geliebt, der zweite Teil hat mich fast genauso überzeugt. Der ständige Wechsel zwischen den Perspektiven macht die Erzählung etwas träge, finde das Konzept aber denn noch sehr spannend. Unbedingt das erste lesen und das hier dann gleich danach!
