Perfect for book lovers

Bewertung (Mitglied der Book Circle Community) am 09.03.2026

Bewertungsnummer: 3071140

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

My first book from this author, and I was blown away. Get ready to step into a world of wonder. Reading books can be a starting point where your dreams begin, or you might even find your very own story. It was fascinating to follow the lives of those three unsuspecting strangers, captivated by what they might discover along the way. It has been a while since I have read something so suspenseful. This book is titled as a love story; it indeed is, but I would say it also offers a bit of adventure, family relationship and personal development.

In a Place Called Lost, Strange Things Are Found

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This is a book for booklovers. For book nerds. For the ones who breathe in the scent of old paper and feel their heart race at the promise of a well-told story. If you’ve ever run your fingers over gilded edges or intricate linings and felt something sacred—if you’ve ever gotten lost in a story, or maybe even been saved by one—then this book is for you. The Lost Bookshop tells the story of two women, divided by a century, both fighting for freedom. Opaline, in 1920s Dublin, is trying to escape a forced marriage and carve out a life that’s truly hers. Martha, in the present day, is fleeing an abusive husband, unsure of who she is or where she belongs—until she’s drawn into the hunt for a forgotten story and toward something powerful, long buried. Both are inexplicably connected by a mysterious bookshop—one that only appears when you're asking the right question. One that speaks to your heart’s deepest desire. This story is whimsical, cozy, and quietly thrilling. It has a soft, almost glowing kind of magic—the kind that doesn’t shout for attention, but settles gently into your heart and stays there. It’s a story about survival and healing, about strong women who refuse to be silenced—who fight for their voices, their futures, and the lives they choose to live. It’s an ode to the quiet, life-saving magic of books: the comfort they offer, the courage they awaken, and the way they find us when we need them most. The perfect story to curl up with—a cup of tea in hand and just enough belief in a little bit of magic

In a place called lost, strange things are found.

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

It’s a heartwarming and whimsical book that masterfully blends elements of historical fiction with a touch of magical realism. The story transports readers to Dublin, where the mysterious and atmospheric bookshop serves as a portal between the past and present. The story is divided in two timelines: the first follows Opaline, a young woman in the 1920s who seeks refuge in the enchanting bookstore as she escapes an arranged marriage. The second timeline centres on Martha and Henry, two modern-day characters who uncover Opaline’s hidden history, unravelling the shop’s secret past. The bookshop itself becomes a character of its own, symbolizing the power of books to change lives. The relationships that develop throughout the story are tender, and the way the author weaves together themes of self-discovery, love, and empowerment is beautifully done. The novel also has a bit of a whimsical feel, where the line between reality and magic is delightfully blurred, adding to the sense of wonder. If you’re a fan of heartwarming tales this one will sweep you off your feet and leave you feeling inspired. It’s to all the book lovers and those who appreciate stories that celebrate the power of books and the bond they create among people across time. It’s a story of hope, redemption, and the quiet magic of finding the right book at the right time. I loved it.
