    Buch (Taschenbuch)

Let me hold your hand when I say this:

You might love this book or you might hate it. I loved it. I didnt mind the self pity of the MC. Yeah it's not the most original book ever - I dont think that's what it's trying to be though? I was going through a rough patch when I read this and to me this book was holding my hand saying "it's going to be okay." Cheesy? Yes. Needed? Absolutely. If you however never have wallowed in self pity, regretted all the decisions you made and overthought the chances you didnt take....don't read this. You will hate it.

    Mega

    made me think

The book captivated me from the first pages and made me think quiet a bit about life. It has become my comfort book and I can really only recommend reading it from the bottom of my heart. The chapters are nice and short and the English is easy for non-English readers too.

    “What if?”

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is a gripping, thought-provoking novel that captivates readers from the first page to the last. It masterfully explores one of life’s most fundamental questions: “What if?” Through the journey of Nora Seed, who finds herself in a library where every book represents a different version of her life based on choices she could have made, Haig invites us to reflect on the profound impact of even the smallest decisions. What makes this book truly stand out is its ability to bring complex philosophical ideas into a relatable narrative. It highlights how our lives can be shaped by seemingly minor decisions, creating a delicate balance between different possible outcomes. Haig’s storytelling is full of unexpected twists and turns, making it impossible to put down. The novel not only entertains but also encourages deep introspection, prompting readers to question their own choices and the potential paths not taken. With its compelling narrative and powerful message, The Midnight Library is a must-read for anyone interested in the intersection of life, regret, and possibility. I recommend this novel to all who seek inspiration and thought-provoking reflection on the nature of existence. Enjoy, Michèle

    What if...?

What if you never took that job? What if you had moved away? What if you had said something else that day? All these what ifs are only waiting for Nora in the midnight library. All these what ifs could mean a completely different life. And what if you, yes you, read this book?

    Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

    Well written, strong, hopeful, thrilling!

A lot of people told me to read this book and I finally did. AND it was totally worth it! I enjoyed it a lot. This deep and beautiful fable is for all of those, who love to self-reflect and feel a bit lost in these modern ages, where we likely feel overstimulated and overwhelmed. But Matt Haig gets down to what really matters. Once you let yourself get lost in this, you will definitely come out richer. "The midnight library" is such a strong, hopeful and thrilling book that will be sticking with me, because it`s so well written, one won't forget it so fast!

    Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

A quick read packed with life lessons!

“Never underestimate the big importance of small things.” Nothing is going well in Nora’s life. She has lost everything: her job, her boyfriend, and her family. Having no more motivation and not seeing a possible situation where it gets better, Nora ingests numerous pills and drifts... and finds herself in a library. Not just any library, though, the Midnight Library. There she begins to take a look at the shelves. Every book is about her, or rather a version of her, and it provides a chance to try another life she could’ve lived, decisions and paths she could’ve pursued. Will Nora be able to find a life that fits her? In short, this book is amazing. No words can describe how much I adore this book, and it will definitely stick with me for some time. "The Midnight Library" is beautiful, hopeful, tender, and authentic from start to finish; it is also well-written, creative in its approach, and quietly profound. I would recommend it to all people who are interested in self-reflection. A book you will undoubtedly re-read!
