Wirklich gutes, kurzes Buch. Für Horror Fans genau das richtige! Keine unnötig in die Länge gezogene Story und sehr gute Charaktere die nachvollziehbar handeln. Hatte sehr viel Spaß beim Lesen!

Wirklich gutes, kurzes Buch. Für Horror Fans genau das richtige! Keine unnötig in die Länge gezogene Story und sehr gute Charaktere die nachvollziehbar handeln. Hatte sehr viel Spaß beim Lesen!

I bought the book around November, but decided to read in March because the title reads "bloom" and the short introduction seemed all fairy- and cottagecore. Well, by the time I actually read it, I didn't remember what it really was about and the hint on the cover beneath the title didn't do much to warn me. my heart skipped about ten beats at once at the last 50 pages or so because I knew what was coming. and after reading it, I was unsettled, like someone's watching me. the book was good and if you read everything the book says beforehand (which I did at... page 50 or so), you partly know what to expect. I didn't like the ending and wish for a second book, but there's not much to say and a second book would even destroy the first one. still, I'm not happy about the ending.

Ash is all she can think about.

Ro is obsessed with Ash, the pretty and talented woman that sells homemade cupcakes, soaps, etc. every Saturday. She can't stop thinking about her. Ro is excited to get to know her better, and they start to grow closer. Soon she realizes, that she doesn't really know anything about her, and Ash seems to have a lot of secrets and boundaries, that Ro struggles to follow. There is one room in Ash's house, that she is never allowed to enter, but her curiosity grows with each day. This book left me speechless at the end!

Bloom is a deliciously dark story that slowly devolves into a nightmare. It was such a pleasant little horror book to come across. In some ways its very cozy and charming, starting out at the farmers market. However this one does not disappoint. With some extra patience, the dark elements will arrive. I really loved the writing. In a novella package, the book is tightly written and satisfying. Its a cozy cottagecore horror. If you love romance and unhinged characters, this one's for you. A little bit pretentious but so deliciously messed up. A dark tale about desire, control & hunger.
